Anthropology/Archaeology
Anthropology, in its broadest applications, is the scientific study of human culture from its origins some 2.5 million years ago to the present day. Archaeology is a major branch of Anthropology that examines the cultures of prehistoric, protohistoric, historic, and modern societies. The Department of Anthropology/ Archaeology provides basic training in the broad field of Anthropology, as well as specialized training in Archaeology, Physical and Forensic Anthropology.
Applied Forensic Sciences
Forensic Science involves the utilization of the natural, physical and social sciences in the multidisciplinary investigation of matters related to society and the law. Activities of relevance to forensic scientists range from locating, documenting and collecting physical evidence at the crime scene to the analysis and interpretation of that evidence in the laboratory and finally the presentation of that evidence in a court of law.
Geology
Geology is the study of the planet Earth, its history, and the processes that act upon it. Geologists seek to understand how the earth formed and evolved into what it is today. They investigate changes that the earth has undergone in its 4.5 billion-year history as its physical, chemical, and biological systems have interacted.
