Petrology and Mineralogy Laboratory
Scheduled for remodeling in 2009, this smart classroom will serve as the repository for the MAI rock and mineral collection. Its associated sample preparation laboratory, currently housed near the Stratigraphy and Sedimentation Laboratory, features diamond saws, rock polishers and a thin section machine for the study of rocks, as well as a Roto-Tap sieve shaker for measurement of coarse-grained sediment samples.
