Course goals and objectives
The goal of the 5-day short course is to familiarize students and professionals with current analytical methods in the forensic anthropology laboratory. Focus will be on the analysis and interpretation of human remains from forensic settings including outdoor death scenes (surface and buried contexts), autopsy, mass fatality incidents, and fire scenes.
Extensive hands-on opportunities with "real", demonstration, case, and forensic case-study specimens will supplement the detailed lectures and presentations.
Seminar participants will receive a workbook and certificate of attendance.
The short course is open to college graduate and advanced undergraduate students, coroners, medical examiners, law enforcement personnel, criminalists, and forensic science specialists.
