Vertebrate Faunal Analysis

MAI's Faunal Analysis Laboratory houses type collections for skeletal remains of most eastern North American vertebrates. These collections employed for comparison to archaeologically derived skeletal material in order to define such parameters as taxon represented, bone portion, side, number of identified specimens, and where appropriate, age and gender.
