Organic Residues Analysis

MAI is one of the few archaeological research facilities in the country with the capability to remove and curate presumed organic residues from various recent, historic, or prehistoric substances such as stone, wood, textiles, and soil. Our exhaustive laboratory capabilities include confirmation of sample identity as blood, determination of human versus non-human bloods, and identification of the species of origin of animal bloods.
