Artifact Processing and Curation Laboratory
The Artifact Processing and Curation Laboratory
ensures the preservation of archaeological materials and precise
documentation of their context. All artifacts are processed, labeled,
and catalogued to comply with all state, federal, and professional
guidelines. Artifacts are prepared for storage in curation-grade
containers with site-specific provenience information recorded
on acid-free forms, accompanied by a copy of the artifact catalogue
and analysis results. MAI's artifact catalogue data are maintained
in up-to-date electronic file format and may be issued in floppy
disk and recordable CD ROM formats.
