Majors in anthropology must maintain a 2.75 college QPA and a 3.00 departmental QPA to remain a candidate for graduation. The credentials of anthropology majors will be evaluated at the end of the sophomore year. At the time of this review students with a QPA lower than these standards will be placed on departmental probation for the succeeding two terms. If after the probationary period the student's QPA remains below standard, then the student will not be recommended for a degree in anthropology. A grade of "D+" or lower in any departmental courses, as well as in any CO-requisite courses, must be retaken. Statistics will not simultaneously satisfy both college and departmental requirements for math.

Students seeking a BA in anthropology must take a total of 16 courses (46 credits) from departmental offerings. 2 CO-requisite math and lab-science courses (6 credits), and successfully complete the advanced level of a foreign language. Classes taken from the department will include a sequence of 12 required courses (34 credits) plus 4 additional courses (12 credits).

Students seeking a BS in anthropology are required to take a total of 19 courses (55 credits) from departmental offerings, 4 CO-requisite math and lab-science courses (12 credits), and successfully complete the advanced level of a foreign language. Classes taken from the department will include a sequence of 12 required courses (34 credits) plus 7 additional courses (21 credits) selected from one of three areas of concentration, such as archaeology, physical anthropology or forensic anthropology. Of these 7 additional courses, 3 must be lab-sciences.
